The Second Annual Toys for Tots Drive Was a Wonderful Success!

Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009 was more than a festive holiday concert for the Lake Wobegon^® Brass Band and the audience who gathered. It was a chance to give to those in need, and indeed, our Lake Wobegon^® family gave!

With advertising that the band would provide a collection bin at our Anoka-Ramsey home performance on the Toys for Tots website, band flyers and posters, and through emails to families and friends of the members, approximately 100 toys and $950.00 were donated.

Eight lawn-sized garbage bags filled with toys were dropped off in the KARE 11 "backyard," and the monetary donations were placed in the secure collection box.  The U.S. Marine troops present expressed their gratitude with warm words and smiles.

Why do we give to those in need?  Because we can!
