David Trapp is one of the original members of the Lake Wobegon^® Brass Band.  Dave was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Music Education.  He received his Masters degree from St. Cloud State University and is enjoying his 25th year of teaching this year. 

He spent six years teaching band in Southern Minnesota, 14 years in the St. Francis School District and is presently in his 5th year in the Hopkins School District teaching elementary band. 

Currently Dave resides in Andover, Minnesota with his wife and two daughters.  Dave is an active member at his church, directing the church band, organizing brass groups, playing his trumpet on numerous occasions and singing in the church choir. 

In his spare time, Dave enjoys spending time with his family, biking, gardening and is currently serving as president of the Anoka High School Band Parents Association.
